In 2019, SCE’s Digital Labor team developed a strategy to leverage robotics that would assist personnel within the utility’s front and back-office departments. To date, more than 60 robotic automations have been deployed, resulting in over $8 million in savings. Additionally, the automations have mitigated the need to hire approximately 100 full-time employees which would have been required to process the tasks manually.
