Load Limiters Provide ENMAX’s Vulnerable Customers an Alternative to Disconnection

ENMAX Energy has begun piloting a Limited Power Program that allows vulnerable customers on the company’s Regulated Rate Option to receive essential power while making bill payment arrangements. Rather than proceeding with full disconnection for non-payment, ENMAX provides essential power through load-limiting devices while customers make plans for remittance. In 2023, ENMAX installed more than 5,000 pilot-based devices at customers’ residences.

This endeavor has been recognized with a Silver Award for Serving Vulnerable Customers in Chartwell's 2024 Best Practices Awards.
