Automating Credit and Deposit Screening: New Approaches to Arrears Risk Management

Utilities are increasingly exploring ways to automate credit and deposit screening to improve consistency, accelerate customer onboarding, and allow credit teams to focus on complex cases. This panel will examine how utilities are integrating automated decision tools into their customer operations, leveraging credit bureau data, business validation tools, and configurable rules engines to support deposit decisions at the point of service.

Panelists will discuss lessons learned from early implementations, the role of third-party vendors, and how automation can balance risk management with customer experience. Attendees will gain practical insight into how automated screening can streamline workflows, reduce manual review, and strengthen arrears management strategies.
