LADWP Serves Vulnerable Communities with Customer Support Saturdays
Committed to supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged communities, particularly in the wake of challenges heightened by COVID-19, the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) offers programs to assist with utility bills, conserve resources, and manage extreme heat. In the aftermath of the pandemic, LADWP launched a series of resource fairs and outreach programs to assist customers who needed financial support for their utility bills. This effort culminated in Customer Support Saturdays, which brought together LADWP customer service representatives and local service providers to offer a one-stop shop for applying to utility assistance programs and learning about energy and water conservation resources.
This initiative with an Honorable Mention for Serving Vulnerable Customers in Chartwell's 2024 Best Practices Awards.
