How Ameren Missouri’s Charge Ahead Program Expanded Access and Accelerated Adoption

As electric vehicles (EVs) transition from emerging technology to everyday transportation, Ameren Missouri is helping to expand the infrastructure needed to support them. The Charge Ahead Program set out to remove two significant barriers to EV adoption - limited charging availability and high installation costs - while ensuring equitable access for all communities.

Through $6 million in incentives, the development of a trusted contractor network, and targeted outreach to both customers and communities, the program deployed more than 1,200 charging ports across 366 projects.

These achievements earned Ameren Missouri Bronze recognition in Chartwell's 2025 Best Practices Awards for Electric Vehicle Programs.
