BGE “Matches” Online Dating With Appliance Rebates

Baltimore Gas and Electric Company (BGE) designed The Match campaign to promote the utility’s Appliance Rebates Program through a series of ads mimicking “dating profiles” for energy efficient appliances. The multi-channel campaign encouraged customers to “Make The First Move” and find the perfect appliance to match their needs. By connecting appliance shopping to the relatable experience of online dating, BGE brought a touch of humor that connected with its targeted audiences. The campaign’s ads exceeded industry benchmarks and received positive feedback from customers.

This initiative has been recognized with a Bronze Award for Marketing and Communications in Chartwell's 2024 Best Practices Awards.
