Driving Change: Ameren Missouri Wins Award for Expanding EV Charging Infrastructure

Ameren Missouri, a member of the Chartwell Electric Vehicle Leadership Council, has been recognized with the 2025 Chartwell Best Practices Award for Excellence in Electric Vehicle Programs, honoring its groundbreaking Charge Ahead initiative. Launched in January 2020, Charge Ahead was designed to accelerate electric vehicle adoption across Ameren Missouri’s service territory by making charging infrastructure more accessible for businesses and organizations.

Through this program, Ameren Missouri committed $6 million in incentives to support the installation of Level 2 and DC fast charging stations at public, workplace, and multifamily locations. These incentives helped remove barriers for businesses eager to embrace EV technology and meet the growing demand for sustainable transportation solutions. Beyond financial support, Ameren Missouri built a robust network of more than 100 electric vehicle partners, ensuring customers had expert guidance throughout their charging projects.

By the time the program concluded in December 2024, Ameren Missouri had fully allocated its $6 million investment, enabling the installation of 1,208 additional charging ports across the region. This achievement significantly expanded the availability of EV charging options, making it easier for drivers to choose electric and for communities to benefit from cleaner transportation.
