Tampa Electric’s Holistic Approach to Outage Communications
During the 2024 hurricane season Tampa, Florida, was hit with some of the worst natural disasters in more than a century. Hurricanes Debby, Helene, and Milton alone were catastrophic, and with all striking the mainland only months apart the region found itself in a volatile state of disrepair. By utilizing proactive customer-centric approaches, Tampa Electric effectively managed its operations while maintaining high customer satisfaction.
This initiative earned Tampa Electric Bronze recognition in Chartwell’s 2025 Best Practices Awards for Outage Communication.
