Utilities are called upon to serve everyone in their service territory with reliable power. And while the majority of a utility’s accounts are tied to residential customers, as much as half or more of a utility’s revenue comes from business customers. Navigating these relationships requires a different approach than is typically used for residential account holders. If done well, business customers can be a powerful ally and valued partner to utilities.
