SnoPUD’s Outage Alerts Improve Customer Experience During Storms

Snohomish County, Washington, experienced especially fierce winter weather in 2022. An intense windstorm brought down so many trees that most residents lost power for a week, while crews from the Snohomish County Public Utility District (SnoPUD) worked tirelessly to restore service. The challenges of supporting the community during that period led SnoPUD to develop an Outage Alerts tool, which has revolutionized the way the utility manages outage communications during both blue sky and severe storm events.

This program won SnoPUD Bronze in Chartwell's Outage Best Practices Awards for Outage Communications.
