EV Electrification a Key Focus for the City of Austin

The City of Austin’s Fleet Mobility Services department manages more than 7,000 vehicles across 25 municipal departments including public works, fire, police, and EMS, as well as Austin’s owned utilities — Austin Energy, Austin Water, and Austin Resource Recovery. Beginning in 2007, the City has undertaken a multi-year journey to embrace the electrification of its vehicles. Since then, the City’s dedication to EVs and electric vehicle presence has expanded exponentially.
