Turning eMobility Investments Today into Revenue Makers Tomorrow

Utilities across North America are investing heavily in electric vehicle infrastructure, but the long-term value of those investments depends on how effectively EV load is integrated into the grid and customer programs. In this session, Orange & Rockland’s Andrew Farrell shares how the utility is approaching eMobility as a strategic growth opportunity.

Through initiatives such as its PowerReady make-ready program, managed charging incentives, and advanced charger siting tools, O&R is accelerating EV adoption while ensuring charging demand supports grid reliability and long-term revenue growth. The discussion will explore how utilities can move beyond compliance-driven electrification and begin designing programs that create new load, improve asset utilization, and position EVs as a core component of the future utility business model.

Speaker: Andrew Farrell, Director of E-Mobility, Orange and Rockland Utilities, Inc.

While at Con Edison, Andrew has worked in business finance, forecasting, and gas operations. He moved in 2019 to Orange & Rockland (O&R), holding positions on the clean energy policy and electrification teams. Farrell is currently the Director of E-Mobility at O&R where he takes the lead in supporting electric vehicle policy and program implementation to ensure that O&R is meeting New York’s and New Jersey’s ambitious clean transportation goals. Some fun tidbits about Andrew are that he is 20 marathons deep into a goal to run 50 in 50 states by 50 years old. He also reads 2-3 books a week.
