Hydro Ottawa’s Strategic Outage Communications Campaign Restores Confidence

A severe weather event struck Hydro Ottawa’s service territory in May 2022, resulting in widespread outages and a reduction in customer sentiment. As a result, the utility launched a Rebuilding Trust campaign to restore confidence among its customers. Hydro Ottawa also enhanced its storm communications via text and email. Both strategies aided the utility in restoring customer satisfaction and sentiment scores by the end of 2022. This campaign earned Hydro Ottawa a Silver Award for Excellence in Outage Communications.
