Karl is the Chair of the Electric Vehicle Leadership Council and previous co-founder/leader of the award-winning Electric Vehicles & Emerging Technologies team at Austin Energy, the nation’s 3rd largest city-owned electric utility. A Principal Investigator on twelve successful innovation grants, active speaker and board advisor, Karl is co-author of “Smart Cities; Applications & Standards” a college textbook published by Springer. Previous roles include Austin Energy’s Chief Information Officer, Managing Director at Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, and Captain in the US Army Corps of Engineers.

Cameron Freberg, Manager of EVs & Emerging Technologies, Austin Energy
Cameron Freberg is the Manager for Electric Vehicles & Emerging Technologies at Austin Energy and has experience working across many areas in the utility industry. His work at Austin Energy has supported program development and operations around new technologies to include transportation electrification, energy storage, demand management, marketing campaign development, and serving as a liaison for new technology initiatives with academia, industry, and the community. Cameron holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration with a focus on Urban and Environmental Planning from Texas State University.
Alex Keyhani, Manager, EV & Load Management Programs, Tampa Electric
Alex Keyhani is the Manager of EV & Load Management Programs at Tampa Electric, where he oversees the full lifecycle of customer programs in these sectors ranging from design and implementation to operations, budget management, marketing, performance analysis, and stakeholder engagement. He drives the success and growth of Tampa Electric’s transportation electrification and load management portfolio, ensuring operational excellence, customer value, and strategic alignment. Previously with AECOM, Alex designed critical electrical infrastructure projects for NASA, the US Air Force, and State agencies. He holds a Professional Engineer license and has a strong foundation in electrical systems, program leadership, and customer-focused innovation in the utility space.
