Key accounts and national customers are navigating rising energy costs, electrification, sustainability commitments, and increasing operational risk while at the same time managing unprecedented growth. Utilities have an opportunity to move beyond transactional service and become strategic partners to support them through these challenges. This panel will explore how utilities are strengthening relationships with their largest business customers through proactive guidance, executive engagement, and data-driven insights. Panelists will discuss strategies for helping customers manage energy use, plan for increasing load demand, evaluate resilience and electrification opportunities, and navigate complex rates, tariffs, and incentive programs. Attendees will gain practical insights into building trusted, long-term partnerships that support customer success, economic growth, and deeper strategic collaboration.

Jennie King is a long-time utility executive, now serving as Principal Consultant at Chartwell Inc. Jennie retired from Salt River Project (SRP) in January 2021 as Director of Strategic Energy Management, responsible for the overall management of SRP’s commercial customer relationships. Jennie’s career began at SRP spanned almost 34 years and has deep and broad experience in the utility industry with emphasis in market research, data management, data analytics, CSAT and transactional surveys and CX research insights, marketing communications, customer service operations, customer journey mapping and business process re-engineering. As Principal Consultant, Jennie works directly with Chartwell’s utility members across North America to advise them on how to design and implement strategic and tactical CX initiatives that are targeted to improve their customers’ experiences and imbed a CX culture into their organization at all levels.

  • Tomaso Giannelli, Key Account Manager, Georgia Power

Tomaso is a Key Account Manager and Team Lead for Georgia Power’s largest customers in Savannah and Coastal Georgia. He brings more than 20 years of experience at two of the largest electric utilities in the United States, much of it focused on serving business customers. During his tenure at Southern California Edison, he worked across several offices and departments, ascending through the ranks from meter reader to senior manager through discipline and dedication.

  • Darren Kelsey, Senior National Customer Manager, PPL

Darren has decades of experience in the utility industry managing national customer relationships and delivering strategic business solutions. As a Senior National Customer Manager for PPL Corporation, he specializes in helping major commercial and industrial clients navigate energy strategy, infrastructure and long-term operational planning. He has received multiple Edison Electric Institute (EEI) Outstanding National Key Accounts Awards and spent more than two decades at American Electric Power (AEP) before joining PPL.

  • Danny Smith, Key Accounts Supervisor, Hydro Ottawa

Danny is the Key Accounts Supervisor at Hydro Ottawa, where he leverages over 20 years of experience to serve as a strategic partner to his clients. Danny specializes in bridging complex technical energy solutions with practical business outcomes, ensuring operational goals align with long-term sustainability targets. Throughout his career, he has led transformative initiatives—ranging from large-scale geothermal systems and microgrids to developing nationwide energy management programs for major REITs.

In his current role, Danny is dedicated to acting as a Trusted Energy Advisor, helping strategic customers navigate the evolving energy landscape. His expertise spans renewable technologies, carbon reduction strategies, and customer support. Danny is committed to building strong, data-driven partnerships that deliver cost-effective, resilient energy outcomes. He thrives at the intersection of innovation and execution, consistently helping customers achieve measurable progress toward decarbonization.
