Game-Based Emergency Management Exercises with CPS
Business continuity or any emergency plans are only valuable if employees know how to apply them when decisions matter most. To strengthen preparedness across the organization, CPS Energy partnered with CAPTRS (Center for Advanced Preparedness and Threat Response Simulation) to develop an interactive board game that transforms a common tabletop exercise topic, a regional power outage, into an engaging, hands-on experience. In this unique session, attendees won’t just hear about the program but also participate in it. Join CPS Energy for a live demonstration of the game, work through a realistic scenario alongside fellow attendees, and experience how game-based learning builds critical thinking, collaboration, and crisis decision-making skills. Panelists will also discuss the game’s development, lessons learned, and how immersive training can improve enterprise resilience, employee engagement, partner engagement, and organizational readiness long before the next disruption occurs.
Speakers:
Jackie Silva, Business Continuity Program Manager, Security Defense and Response, CPS Energy
William Paiz-Tabash, Program Manager, Business Continuity, CPS Energy
